State/ UT-wise Fund sanctioned under Integrated Child Protection Scheme from 2013-14 to 2016-17




The Ministry of Women and Child Development is implementing a Centrally Sponsored Scheme namely, Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) under which financial assistance is provided to the State Government/ UT Administrations for setting up and maintenance of various types of Homes including Homes for children in conflict with law, either by themselves or through voluntary organisations.

In total, fund sanctioned in India under ICPS during the year 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17 (till 31.10.2016) were Rs. 23472.9 lakhs, Rs. 39716.41 lakhs, Rs. 43893.1 lakhs and Rs. 21627.15 lakhs respectively. The top 5 States/UTs in terms of fund sanctioned in India under ICPS during 2016-17 (till 31.10.2016) were: Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Madhya Pradesh.

Fund sanctioned for Tamil Nadu was Rs. 5638.82 lakhs under ICPS during 2016-17 (till 31.10.2016). It accounted 26.07% of the total fund sanctioned in India under ICPS during same time period. Fund sanctioned for West Bengal was Rs. 3017.11 lakhs under ICPS during 2016-17 (till 31.10.2016). It accounted 13.95% of the total fund sanctioned in India under ICPS during same time period. Fund sanctioned for Meghalaya was Rs. 2060.33 lakhs under ICPS during 2016-17 (till 31.10.2016). It accounted 9.53% of the total fund sanctioned in India under ICPS during same time period. Fund sanctioned for Mizoram was Rs. 1949.55 lakhs under ICPS during 2016-17 (till 31.10.2016). It accounted 9.01% of the total fund sanctioned in India under ICPS during same time period. Fund sanctioned for Madhya Pradesh was Rs. 913.11 lakhs under ICPS during 2016-17 (till 31.10.2016). It accounted 4.22% of the total fund sanctioned in India under ICPS during same time period.

The above mentioned top 5 states accounted for 62.79% of the total fund sanctioned in India under ICPS as a whole during 2016-17 (till 31.10.2016).
