The number of persons arrested for Cyber Crime offences under IPC was 1785 during 2016, out of which male were 1727 (96.75%) and female were 58 (3.25%). During 2016 Cheating Crime of Cyber Crime offences under IPC had the maximum number of persons arrested, i.e., 853 persons followed by Others, Forgery, Data Theft, Criminal Breach of Trust/Fraud, Counterfeiting and Fabrication/Destruction of Electronic Records for Evidence. Out of these 853 persons arrested under Cheating Crime head, male and female were 839 (98.36%) and 14 (1.64%) respectively.
There were 793 persons arrested for Other Cyber Crime offences under IPC during 2016, out of which male and female were 754 (95.08%) and 39 (4.92%) respectively. There were 64 persons arrested for Forgery Cyber Crime offences under IPC during 2016, out of which male were 63 (98.44%) and female was 1 (1.56%). The number of persons arrested for Data Theft of Cyber Crime offences under IPC was 34 during 2016 in which all were male.
The number of persons arrested for Criminal Breach of Trust/Fraud, Counterfeiting and Fabrication/Destruction of Electronic Records for Evidence of Cyber Crime offences under IPC was 20, 17 and 4 respectively during 2016. Out of these 20 persons arrested under Criminal Breach of Trust/Fraud Crime head during 2016, 4 persons were arrested for offences related to Credit /Debit Card and 16 persons were arrested for offences related to others.
