Top 10 States/UTs in terms of number of Female Health Assistants/LHV at PHCs in Tribal Areas as on 31st March 2017




There were 2500 Female Health Assistants/LHV at Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in Tribal Areas of India as on 31st March 2017. The Top 10 States/UTs in terms of maximum number of Female Health Assistants/LHV at PHCs in Tribal Areas as on 31st March 2017 were Maharashtra, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Meghalaya and Telangana.

The number of Female Health Assistants/LHV at PHCs in Tribal Areas of Maharashtra was 540 as on 31st March 2017. It accounted 21.6% of the total Female Health Assistants/LHV at PHCs in Tribal Areas of India as on 31-03-2017. The number of Female Health Assistants/LHV at PHCs in Tribal Areas of Gujarat was 357 as on 31st March 2017. It accounted 14.28% of the total Female Health Assistants/LHV at PHCs in Tribal Areas of India as on 31-03-2017. The number of Female Health Assistants/LHV at PHCs in Tribal Areas of Chhattisgarh was 352 as on 31st March 2017. It accounted 14.08% of the total Female Health Assistants/LHV at PHCs in Tribal Areas of India as on 31-03-2017.

There were 204 Female Health Assistants/LHV at PHCs in Tribal Areas of Rajasthan as on 31st March 2017; which accounted 8.16% of the total Female Health Assistants/LHV at PHCs in Tribal Areas of India. There were 199 Female Health Assistants/LHV at PHCs in Tribal Areas of Madhya Pradesh as on 31st March 2017; which accounted 7.96% of the total Female Health Assistants/LHV at PHCs in Tribal Areas of India.

As on 31st March 2017, the number of Female Health Assistants/LHV at PHCs in Tribal Areas of Odisha, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Meghalaya and Telangana was 178, 123, 97, 72 and 71 respectively.

These above mentioned 10 states accounted for 87.7% of the total Female Health Assistants/LHV at PHCs in Tribal Areas of India as a whole as on 31st March 2017.
