Production of Synthetic Rubber of Major Petrochemicals during 2009-10 to 2016-17

Under Synthetic Rubber group of Major Petrochemicals, there were products namely Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR), Poly Butadiene Rubber (PBR), Ethyl Vinyl Acetate (EVA) and Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) were produced in India during 2009-10 to 2016-17.

We have observed a compound annual growth rate of 36% in production of SBR from 19.45 thousand metric tonne during 2009-10 to 167.334 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17. An annual growth of 34.08% has been seen in production of SBR to 167.334 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17 versus 124.798 thousand metric tonne during 2015-16. We have observed a compound annual growth rate of 6.99% in production of PBR from 72.971 thousand metric tonne during 2009-10 to 117.092 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17. An annual growth of 2.78% has been seen in production of PBR to 117.092 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17 versus 113.928 thousand metric tonne during 2015-16.

Production of EVA was 0.391 thousand metric tonne during 2009-10. It has increased by 10.392 thousand metric tonne to 10.783 thousand metric tonne during 2010-11 over 2009-10. Production of EVA was 2.41 thousand metric tonne during 2015-16 and 0 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17. We have observed a compound annual growth rate of -40.44% in production of NBR from 13.309 thousand metric tonne during 2009-10 to 0.354 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17. An annual decline of -10.15% has been seen in production of NBR to 0.354 thousand metric tonne during 2016-17 versus 0.394 thousand metric tonne during 2015-16.

Maximum annual growth rate of 379.13% and 32.98% has been seen in production of SBR and PBR respectively in 2014-15 during the period under consideration. Maximum annual growth rate of 2657.8% has been seen in production of EVA in 2010-11 during the period under consideration. Maximum annual growth rate of 415% has been seen in production of NBR in 2013-14 during the period under consideration.
